Job Description
The eCommerce Developer is responsible for the ongoing development, optimization, and support of the company's eCommerce storefronts. This role owns both the customer-facing experience and the back-end integrations that support online sales operations.
The ideal candidate will enhance site functionality, improve visual presentation and user experience, manage platform customizations, and serve as the primary owner of the synchronization between BigCommerce and the Acumatica ERP system. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining a seamless customer purchasing experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
eCommerce Store Development & Optimization
- Design, develop, and maintain multiple BigCommerce storefronts.
- Implement enhancements that improve site performance, conversion rates, and customer experience.
- Develop new features, custom functionality, and integrations to support business objectives.
- Optimize website speed, responsiveness, accessibility, and mobile usability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues.
User Experience & Visual Enhancements
- Improve site layout, navigation, product presentation, and checkout experience.
- Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to implement promotions, landing pages, and merchandising strategies.
- Ensure consistent branding and visual standards across all storefronts.
- Conduct testing and validation of new functionality prior to release.
Acumatica ERP Integration Ownership
- Serve as the primary owner of the integration between BigCommerce and Acumatica ERP.
- Monitor synchronization of products, pricing, inventory, customers, orders, and fulfillment data.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation and data flow between systems.
- Develop processes for monitoring integration health and proactively addressing sync failures.
Store Operations & Revenue Growth
- Support product catalog management and merchandising initiatives.
- Analyze site performance and recommend enhancements that increase conversion and revenue.
- Partner with sales, operations, and marketing teams to identify business requirements.
- Monitor store performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Technical Support & Governance
- Maintain development standards, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Manage testing environments and release schedules.
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to store functionality and integrations.
- Ensure security, compliance, and platform best practices are followed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting eCommerce platforms.
- Experience with BigCommerce or similar eCommerce platforms.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks.
- Experience working with APIs, web services, and data integrations.
- Experience troubleshooting complex system integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Acumatica ERP integrations.
- Knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience with middleware or integration platforms.
- Experience with eCommerce analytics and conversion optimization.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Experience supporting multiple storefronts or brands.
